About Kasia

I spent most of my formative years in a small town in Northwest Poland called "Fences" and was raised in South Orange County from age seven. There, I quickly developed a habit of sneaking off to Pavilions to buy magazines like Jane — mostly for quiz-taking purposes — using my parents' change. After graduating with an English creative writing degree from San Francisco State University, I went on to write for publications like the San Francisco Bay GuardianKQED ArtsMarin Magazine and eventually helped start Franchise, a publication about art and basketball culture.

I've helped businesses with their branding, including planning and creating newsletter content, and writing clear and compelling products descriptions. I've written about Starbucks drinks for Astrology.com and completed many copyediting and proofreading projects for major corporations. Outside of work, one of the biggest joys in my life is running in Golden Gate Park with my dog. Currently, I live in San Francisco's Sunset District with my husband and am the Local editor at SFGATE.
